It Finally Happened

If you were to look back to my blog from when we were in China, you would find a post regarding our fear that we were going to be picking a lot of toys out of the toilet as Jax was fasinated with 'western potties'.  Well, it finally happened, but it was not what we were expecting.  Don't read further if you don't want potty details.........  I knew Jax was going poop and kept asking him if he was done and ready for me to wipe. No, No, No.  Finally I got bored and walked out of the room and here he comes.  Oy.  He says he has wiped, but I made him go back in so I could make sure he was clean.  Upon flushing the toilet, the water was not going down right.  I retrieved the plunger and started working on what was obvioiusly a paper clog.  I worked and plunged and worked and plunged and eventually called Eric.  A few minutes later he calls me back in.  Abi follows and Eric shows us that he has freed/ plunged a cell phone from the depths of the toilet world.  Eric asks Abi to go get Jax and she says something that I can't recall, but we both looked at her and asked her if she dropped the phone in the pottie.  Yes!  OK,  so lets talk.  No, your not in trouble, but you nned to tell Mommy or Daddy if this happens again.  It was an accident.  Sooooo, while we finally had to dig something out of the toilet if was b/c of Abi and not Jax.  Oh, and thank goodness it was a play phone and not one of our I phones.
PS--no pics--you can thank me later.

All Dressed Up

For a few weeks now, we have been so excited to go see cousin Meridith get married to Nick.  Abi picked our her first pair of 'high heels' and was ready to dance the night away.  Unfortunately, due to the strep, she was unable to go, so Jax got to be Mommy's date while Daddy and Abi spent some quality time together.  I think I had the most handsome date there.........  We have promised abi a special night out for her to wear her 'high heels' and pretty new dress.

Cousin Evie looked amazing in her 'little black dress' even though she was missing a tooth.....

Congratulations Meridith and Nick.

Our Week in Review

Two pictures says it all.  Both kids tested positive for Strep.  It has been a h*ll of a week.  Thankfully, either we caught Jax's early or he had a very mild case.  Abigayle, on the other hand, went down hard with fever.  Three Dr.'s visits and one trip to the hospital rule out pneumonia and finally, we are starting to see improvement.

Coka Amodo

"Coka Amodo, Coka Amodo", Jax yells from the backseat of the car.  What, what the He** is he talking about?  "Mommy, Coka Amodo fell on floor, Mommy, Coka Amodo".  Me- gets out of car to see what the child is freakin out about.......
Oh, Captain America.  Good Grief, Jax, repeat after me..... Cap Tain   A Mer I Ca.

Ballerina Protocol

Last week Abi started 'big girl' ballet class.  We were informed that there is a ballet dress code that exceeds the combo class she was previously in.  1.  No tutu's  (thank goodness we had only purchased one--guess it can join the rest of the dress up cloths).  2.  No pony tails--hair must be secured on top of the head in a bun.  She loved the bun!

Happy Father's Day

Opening presents in bed.  Need to get a good pic of Eric with the kiddos.

Too Much Activity

Last night, Eric and I decided to sneak up on the kids and scare them as they were watching a movie before bed.  Unfortunately, they had other plans.  Apparently swim lessons, errands and the park were too much for them.  Weaklings!

Our Little Fish

After the party we headed to the lake for some R&R.  Since the kids already had their swim suits on, it took all of being there for 5 minutes before they were in the lake.  Jax told me to come on and I told him I was not getting in the water and he was going to have to just jump in.  Well OK--off he went.

I don't know how many times the kids jumped, and climbed the ladder only to do it all over again.  Abi only jumped on Jax once--of course, once is too many and she did have to take a time out for that one.

Daddy brought the one jet ski he is fixing to sell for one last run so that he could officially tell the buyer that it runs in perfect condition--BTW--anyone in need of a GREAT 2 seater, this is the jet ski for you.

Our evening boat ride courtesy of Captain Daddy and Skippers Abi and Jax, took us across the lake to see the lighthouse.

Who can resist a good butt shot?

                                                               Faster Daddy, Faster!

Sunday morning, the kids were back in the lake by 9:30 am. Yes, that's right--9:30 AM! We only suffered one bow boo for the weekend--we think Abi hit a rock on the bottom when she jumped off the side of the dock--so notes to self-1. must buy water shoes for all kids and adults and 2. no jumping off the side of the dock!

Who could resist a raid on Grammy and PaPa's tomatoe garden and pop-sickles of course.  Yum Yum!

Finally, Daddy capped off the weekend with a big ol' bass caught right off our dock.  Go Daddy.

June's Fantastic Storm

For those of you who know me well, you must know how excited I was at the most unexpected, humongous storm that rolled through last night.  Being my first day off work, I had been home and privy to the news which only forecast a slight 20% chance of rain.  Imagine my surprise when the ladies at dance came upstairs saying it was black outside.  Wait, I just came in 10 minutes ago and it was 94* degrees and sunny outside.  The storm blew in that fast and boy was it furious.  The lights flickered a few times during class, but Abi was able to complete class.  She is the last one on the left.  Check out the point on that toe....

We left to go get Jax and got completely drenched even though we had an umbrella.  Grabbed Jax and started the attempt to get home.  Decided not to take the back road b/c I knew for sure there would be a tree down.  HOWEVER, my main road home turned out to be flooded and blocked by police.  Turn around, head to the back roads.  Guess what--there WAS a tree across the road.  OK,  so both of my routes home are blocked.  Head back down the main road and by now the water has drained and we are able to make it home.  Let me put this ordeal in a bit of perspective.  The journey home from day care should have taken us maybe 7 minutes.  An hour and a half later, we pulled up in our drive.  Enjoy some of the pictures we took on our journey.  Oh, and of course we lost power as we always do when the wind, ah hem, farts.  We slept hot until 5:45 am--12 hours after the initial excitement began.  It was a GREAT night.

This was directly across the street from Jax's day care.  Scarry.

This is the top of a utility pole--Uh, don't think you dummy's should be playing with that.  Duh....

The tree I knew would be across the road!

Summer 2012 Officially Begins

Abi and Jax joined our neighbor Peyton at her 8th birthday party to officially kick off the summer of 2012.  They both jumped off the diving board until the life guards decided if you needed floaties to jump off the board, then you can not swim well enough to jump off the board.  Major bummer for Jax--he HATED sitting on the side waiting for big sister. Bonus for Abi though, she showed me that she could just about make it to the side.  One outstretched arm from Mommy and she made it.

The Last Day of 1st Grade

Gotta love the ghetto writing on the cake, the regular bakery person was gone and I probably should not have accepted it, but oh well, it seved its purpose.  Congratulations Abi on a great 1st grade year.  I would have never guessed the strides that are made in Reading during this year.  Can't wait to see what second grade has in store for us.

6 days old

We went to visit our baby ducklings down at the pond and they were all there following their momma around and appeared to be doing great.  What I found out though almost broke my heart.  While visiting the babies, I started talking to one of my neighbors who I have never spoke to before and he told me that on Tuesday, earlier that week, (the ducks were born on Monday) his grand daughter had found seven of the babies in our drainage ditch.  I guess she heard them squaking.  The next day when she came to visit her grandpa, they were still there and she was hysterical.  So he got something to wedge the man holes up and they were able to shoo all the babies into a net.  They then returned them to the pond and their momma.  I had no idea all of this was going on, yet, I kept wondering why the momma duck was still hanging around.  I figured that there was still one egg that had not hatched.  Little did I know it was because her babies had fallen in the drain.  So thank you to my neighbor, who I still do not know his name for rescuing our sweet baby ducks.
