Any of you who know Eric and I personally or have slept in our house, know that we like things cool, some would say cold. Unfortunately, Beijing apparently doesn’t believe in keeping things cool, including our hotel room, restaurants and the airport. Nor, do they believe in soft beds. Now, this little tid bit, I knew and had prepared Eric for, but it truly is like sleeping on concrete. We are hoping the air conditioning situation will improve in GZ—the beds we can deal with, the air, we can not.
Abigayle really took to our driver Mr. Chu. She would run up to him and just hug his legs.
B/C of all the traffic problems Beijing has, they have enacted laws that govern which day you can drive in the city. Depending on the last number of your license plate, there are two days per week, that you are not allowed to drive and must take either a taxi or public transportation. Everyone is allowed to drive on weekends.
To all our travel mates from my first trip to China—Grace loved the pictures. After looking at the group shot of all of us in Chongqing, she was able to call most of you by name. Amy—she took your email information and will contact you by email. She clearly remembered Kim’s strong southern accent and was amazed at how Chase had grown.
Guess that is all for now. Toodaloo.
