Passports and Beans

This morning started off the same as all others here in GZ with breakfast. That is after we woke at 5 am again. Jaxon loves to eat. We fed him scrambled eggs, congee and banana and then he fed himself scrambled eggs and banana. Later we met up with the group who has adopted us for group pictures and pictures on the famous red couches. Jax was very nervous about that whole thing and started crying. Abigayle was just a toot, so our pic’s aren’t that great between the two of them. Oh well.

Lunch is turning out to be an ordeal. Eric and I are not hungry, but know we need to feed the kids. We are already tired of eating out. After venturing to the deli and deciding that there really wasn’t much to feed Jax there, we headed to the local 7-11. We stocked up on cans of red beans, tuna, pringles, and cup of noodles. We figured between the snacks we brought and those yummy goodies, we will be able to feed the kids for a couple of days. Apparently the Chinese love red beans b/c they are served at every breakfast and you can find them in all pastries. Anyhow, it should be a good source of protein until we can get him home and to his Dr’s.

This afternoon we were taken to get Jax’s passport. Our super guide Helen seems to know how to get us to the front of every line or maybe it is b/c we are just one family but they let us go ahead of everyone else. Jax fell asleep on the way there in Eric’s arms and it was very hard to wake him—all the passport picture people were yelling and banging trying to get a picture of him with his eyes open. It was quite a site.

We ventured to a Chinese restaurant, on our own, I might add, and then since Daddy had been awake since about 4 am, he took a night time nap while I took the kids swimming. It was a nice cool way to end the day. We have heard that you are not allowed to take pictures in the swim area, so I didn’t even bother with a camera, but another couple had a camera and they didn’t get yelled at, so I will try our luck tonight. Jax loved the pool and was splashing Abigayle.

PS Have I mentioned it is hot here, like the humidity is 100%+ everyday, Geesh!

  2. Cute pictures! Love the one of Jax on your shoulder Kendra-- so sweet, and the one of Eric with the kids. It was so fun to meet you guys and get to share your excitement about meeting Jaxon--even better to see you with your little man in your arms (or snuggled up in Daddy's lap)! Abigayle looks so pretty in her pink! And I am lovin' the Little Bro shirt--way cool Jaxon! :)

    Blessings ~
