A hiccup

Hello all, We have made it to Beijing, China. Unfortunately, we didn't get here until 9:30 pm--We were supposed to land around 3:30, but our plane had some mechanical difficulties and I guess they don't have extra 747's laying around, so we had to wait for one to get here from Frankfurt, Germany. So, how do you entertain a 5 year old in an airport for 8 unexpected hours--you ride the people mover over and over and over, you push your bear up and down the airport in a stroller and you sleep. By the time we got to our hotel and showered, we went to bed around 11:30pm. It is now 4:30 and we are all awake----so, did we sleep better on the plane than we thought, are we just too excited to sleep or is the time change really messing with us? Time will tell. I will say that Abigayle traveled amazingly well. She definitely earned a 'purple' on the trip. To all Abi's China sisters, Grace remembered our group: she remembered we were in Chongqing, she called Amy by name and knew that your neighbors were here about a year after we were, she asked about the dark headed one, Tina (Gina) and remembered that Gianna was sick on the trip and remembered that I traveled with my mom who loved the Cloisenne to name a few. I will give her the updated pictures you all sent today. Unfortunately, and fortunately, depending on how you look at it, we are a one family group for this portion of the trip--no families to share the joy with, but we get Grace and a driver all to ourselves. Guess that is all for now. We are off to the Great Wall and other tourist sites today.

PS our hotel offers 11 different pillows for your sleeping pleasure. for example: buckwheat pillow, bamboo charcoal pillow, cassia seed pillow and a silkworm excrement pillow. (hmmmm--I will leave you with that thought).

  2. Ooh, that hotel sounds a lot better than the Beijing hotel we had the first time--worm poop pillow and all! And we remember Grace very fondly from the Beijing and Guangzhou parts of our trip. Glad you made it there safely and can't wait for you to meet Jaxon!
