Can you tell I am so excited. I have been waiting, watching, feeding and talking to momma duck for 5 weeks now. So far we have seen 6 hatched eggs and four babies. She is keeping them tucked under her wings pretty tightly, but has let us glimpse them a few times. We even got to see one egg rolling around and then watch the duck fall out of the egg. It was soooo totally cool. Here is what we have so far.
This one was when Abi got to close and she stuck out that beak to warn us that she would attack if needed. Simmer down little momma, we are not going to hurt you. We just want to observe the beauty of nature and your precious little ones. I mean, really, how many people get to watch ducks hatch in their front yard?
