Hocus Pocus Pops

Each fall, the local symphony puts on a special production for familes and kids to enjoy. Last Friday, Eric and I took the kids to the Pavillion to enjoy 'symphony' music, family time ( Julie, Kenlie, Malorie and Evie joined us), friend time (Brian and Kerry with Ava and Liam joined us) and of course snacks. While the music was great--they had a Harry Potter theme this year, I think the kids more enjoyed sitting on the lawn, wearing their costumes, being out late at night, rolling on the blankets and just having a good ole time. One of the proud moments for me was when Abi happened to pause from playing with her cousins and friends and was listening to the conductor talk abouit the music--she piped in, Mommy--we learned about that song in Music class at school. She could hardly wait to go to Music this week and tell her teacher that she heard the song at the symphony this weekend.

One Word and 4 Little Numbers

I was actually very excited to be called for jury duty. Friends and family tried to convince me to call in an exemption since Eric is in Singapore and I have small kids, but my responsibility to civic duty won out. Unfortunately or luckily, depending on how you look at it, I never made it out of the jury pool room.

Halloween

Yah, we are not a princess this year....... Truly, we are not.

Take a look at our beautiful Rainbow Fairie and Blue Power Ranger. I really thought that Abi was going to be the Pink Power Ranger, but she flipped on me at the last minute. My girl still prefers 'girlie' stuff even though she plays Power Rangers with her brother all the time.

Happy 7th Birthday Party

FINALLY, I got my act together and scheduled Abi's 7th birthday party. She has been so patient with me as I would throw out suggestions and then have to retract them. Like when I asked her if she wanted a swim party--YES-- and then by the time I got around to scheduling it, all the pools were closed....... or when I asked her if she wanted to take all her friends to the movies and by the time I got around to scheduling it, the movie was no longer in the theatre......... We settled on Build a Bear, got it booked , paid the deposit and sent out the invitations--really, I just had to do something, b/c Jax's 5th birthday is right around the corner. Abi and all her friends had a blast creating their special bear friend and eating cake and ice cream.

Check out the rockin jazz/ PJ outfit her cousins, aunt Bug and Uncle Bug gave her. Not shown is the ruffle on the butt. Toooooooo cute.

PS--Jax was not happy when we ordered Abi's cake. He wanted me to go head and order him a cake as well for his birthday. Looks like he is heading for a 'football' theme. We'll see. I thought for sure we would be doing a Power Rangers theme.
