Our Thanksgiving Tree
A few weeks ago, I bought this beautiful rod iron tree with great plan of using it during all the holdiays. For Thanksgiving, it became our Thanksgiving Tree. I made us paper leaves and we all had to write things that we were thankful for. Jax's first thing to be thankful for was Ninja's. Ummmm, well, lets talk some more b/c well, you are not quite understanding. Next he came up with grapes. Ok--better, then he began to name all the foods he loves to eat. A few days later, I asked him if there was anything else he was thankful for and he told me the planet. When I wasn't understanding what he was trying to tell me, he said, you know, mommy, the Earth. Oooooh , OK. Here is a sample of some of the leaves on our tree.
Manger Play
As I have been getting down all of the Christmas stuff out of the atick, Of course, my manger scene came down. Both kids, but especially Abi have been mesmerized by it--playing with it constantly. We set it up in our formal dining room b/c well, we don't have a formal dining room set, so it is basically a big empty room. Since getting it out, Mary and Joseph have danced at prom together, been put in jail, battled fierce horses from legoland, defended the manger against ninja turtles, gotten married etc. It is something unique to be cooking in the kitchen and listen to see what exciting adventures Abi has in store for Mary and Joseph.

I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, BUT, we bought a new tree and I could not wait to get it up. Check out the reflection in the windows.
