Happy New Year

This year we opted to stay in and enjoy the new year together as a family of four. We started off with Daddy setting off fireworks.

Abigayle was super excited to watch Fergie on Dick Clark's Rockin Eve. She was also very determined to stay up and watch the ball drop in New York.
Happy New Year Everyone. We wish you a safe and happy new year.

To the Rescue

Jax has high aspirations and is busy exploring all his options for future employment. The other night, he was all about being a fireman.

Tony L--this is for you.

Jax threw a fit the other day when I was getting Abigayle ready to go out. He wanted a bow in his hair too. Luckily, Eric put his foot down and played the bad guy, not allowing Jax to go out in public like this.

Future NBA All-Star

So what does any good old Chinese-American boy do after their bath--they shoot hoops, and in this case- they shoot hoops in the buff.
He shoots!
He scores!
And the crowd goes wild!

Birthday Bath

Each year on the kids birthday, I take a picture of them in the bath. I know I won't be able to do this forever, but it looks pretty cool in their "Through the Years" scrapbook that I am making for each of them. So, here is our 3 year old Jax!

Ready for Santa

Hello all, we'll I guess I should say good evening y'all. We are officially ready for Santa to visit our house tonight. The kids have prepared the cookies and milk and thrown carrots out for the reindeer. Abi and Jax are besides themselves with excitement. One more quick check under the tree and they were off to bed.

Merry Christmas 2010

From our family, to yours. Have a wonderful holiday season. We are so blessed to be a family of 4 this year. If you were to look back in the archives, you will see that we received our preliminary approval to adopt Jax from China on December 30, 2009. Just look at us now!

HO HO HO

I have to admit, I was worried, well maybe just wondering how our visit to Santa was going to go this year. Abi, eager as could be, walked right up and crawled in his lap. Jax, on the other hand, needed a bit of, um, persuading. I took him and was trying to show him how soft Santa's coat was. So, yeah, that really wasn't working. Santa, being Santa, offered Jax a high five and that did it. Jax high fived back and I plopped him on his lap and lept away. So, Jax isn't smiling, but he is not screaming either. All in all a great visit. Abi asked for makeup and a barbie. Jax never got around to discussing his list--he was out of there.

Birthday Portraits

I know, I know-his birthday is in December and he is in shorts. Well, we took the pictures in October--I was organized at that time, and it was still really nice outside. The 'Hawaiian' outfit was the first outfit Eric picked out for Jax way back in March 2010, long before he came home to us. The sailboat was the first outfit I picked out for him. Isn't he just the most handsomest (is that at word?) little boy.

Party #2

.

Jax, family and friends celebrated Jax's 3rd birthday at Pump It Up. My, I think the adults had more fun than the kids.

Happy Birthday Jax

A few weeks ago, we shared in the honor of celebrating Jaxon's 3rd birthday.

Party #1 was held at our house with family. Hamburgers, hot dogs and of course a Micky Mouse cake. Jax accidentally stuck his foot in the cake during pictures--apparently the icing tastes as good on toes as it does on the cake! For a boy who has never celebrated a birthday, he knew right what to do with the presents. Happy Birthday sweet boy--you have completed our family and we are grateful for all the gifts you give to us on a daily basis.
