LID

We have just received confirmation that all of our documents to adopt Jaxon have officially been received and logged in in China. Our official LID is May 21, 2010. The LID is a big date in the adoption community. Families use it as a gage to make all sorts of predictions about when they will get a referral, travel, etc. While we would like to say that this brings us one step closer to Jaxon, it is really more of a technical thing. We are still months away from traveling.

Gymnastics Olympics

Last night, Abigayle participated in her end of the year gymnastics Olympics. She did great, but was defiantly more interested in waving to her Aunt Bug, Uncle Bug, cousins, Grammy, PaPa, Mommy and Daddy. Congratulations honey, we are so proud of you. Oh, before we could even get started, Miss Kenlie decides to loose a tooth in the bathroom. We hope the tooth fairy was good to you.
Mom, I need your disk, so I can upload more pics!

DTC

At 12:25 today, we received an email confirming that we are officially DTC--Dossier to China. In layman's terms, this means that the paperwork part of Jaxon's adoption is complete and all of it has been sent to China and the China Center of Adoption Affiars. What's next? We Wait! and Wait, and Wait. Our wait could be anywhere from 3-6 months. Let's all hope we travel in 3 months rather than 6 months. When our paperwork arrives in China, it will be logged in and we will receive a LID (Log in Date). It will be translated and then sent for review to make sure it meets all the standards set forth by the Chinese government. And still we wait.
As a side note, it was almost exactly 5 years ago that my Dossier was sent to China for Abigayle. My Dossier for Abi was acutally mailed to China on May 7th, 2005 and was logged in May 17, 2005.

The Next Survivor Series......

In a continuation from the Mother's Day Theme...........................

THE
NEXT SURVIVOR
SERIES
Six married men
will be dropped on an island
with one car
and 3 kids each
for six weeks.
Each kid will play two sports
and take either music or dance classes.
There is no fast food.
Each man must
take care of his 3 kids;
keep his assigned house clean,
correct all homework,
complete science projects,
cook,
do laundry,
and pay a list of 'pretend' bills
with not enough money.
In addition,
each man
will have to budget enough money
for groceries each week.
Each man
must remember the birthdays
of all their friends and relatives,
and send cards out on time--no emailing.
Each man must also take each child
to a doctor's appointment,
a dentist appointment
and a haircut appointment.
He must make one unscheduled and
inconvenient visit per child to the emergency Room.
He must also make cookies or cupcakes
for a school function.
Each man will be responsible for
decorating his own assigned house,
planting flowers outside, and keeping it
presentable at all times.
The men will only have access to television
when the kids are asleep and all chores are done.
The men must shave their legs,
wear makeup daily,
adorn themselves with jewelry,
wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes,
keep fingernails polished,
and eyebrows groomed
During one of the six weeks,
the men will have to endure severe
abdominal cramps, backaches, headaches,
have extreme, unexplained mood swings
but never once complain or slow down
from other duties.
They must attend weekly school meetings
and church,
and find time at least once to spend
the afternoon at the park or a similar
setting.

They will need to read a book to the kids each night
and in the morning,
feed them,
dress them,
brush their teeth and
comb their hair
by 7:30 am.

A test will be given
at the end of the six weeks,
and each father will be required to know
all of the following information:
each child's
birthday,
height, weight,
shoe size, clothes size,
doctor's name,
the child's weight at birth,
length, time of birth,
and length of labor,
each child's favorite color,
middle name,
favorite snack,
favorite song,
favorite drink,
favorite toy,
biggest fear,
and what they want to be when they grow up.
The kids vote them off the island based on performance.
The last man wins only if...
he still
has enough energy
to be intimate with his spouse
at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win,
he can play the game over and over and over
again for the next 18-25 years,
eventually earning the right
to be called Mother!

Whine City..............

OMG, We have no idea what was up with Abi tonight, but from the moment she came home to the moment I put her to bed-EARLY, she was full of whine. Good grief-lets cross our fingers for a better evening tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day-Belated

I can not wait until next year when I will be the Mommy of TWO fantastic kiddos. Until then, we all gathered at the lake house for a hamburger cookout and yard games. Gosh, I love being a Mommy. Abigayle is such an incredible daughter--loving, caring, considerate and sometimes little turkey with a smart mouth. I can't wait to put her to bed each night and wake her up each monring. I love her spunk, her hugs and her laughs. I also love being the daughter of my mom. My sister and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful, yet nosey :) Mom as a role model. I hope I can raise Abigayle with all the love that my mom gave me. Finally, we would all not be here if it weren't for my grandma. To all the other wonderful women in my life, especially Julie, Ann and Janet, I love you all.

New Jaxon Pics and Update:

We were so surprised to get updates on Jaxon this morning. He looks FABULOUS. Why can't we go to China and get him NOW? He needs to be with us--his family. The report indicates he can identify some colors and goes up and down stairs. They further report he loves to go outside and moves his head in rhythm to music. BTW--yes, I see the girlie shirt he has on--more shopping needed!

Kindergarten Registration--oh my

Today Eric and I went to register Abigayle for Kindergarten. She is soo excited about going to, "My Kreinhop School". Me--not so excited. My baby is going to big girl school. I can't believe it is already time.

Chinese Consulate--Check--Well Almost

Today, I dropped off all our documents at the Chinese Consulates office in Houston. Eric will pick them up Tuesday morning. So barring any major problems, our Dossier will go to China on Friday.

As a side note, Five years ago in May, my Dossier for Abigayle went to China.

Happy Birthday Grampy.

The Room Finally Takes Shape

Well, we all worked hard on Jax's room this weekend and check out the finished product. Grammy L got in on the action and helped me paint. Eric finished the trim, and hung the doors. Abigayle took careful measurements and made sure that no mistakes were made. Next weekend, we plan on painting all the trim and doors. The final step will be to hire someone to restreach the carpet and order the furniture.
