Overwhelmed....., but Healthy

Well, my on-line friend Erica and her family were indeed able to visit Zhu Hai Orphanage. She said there was a welcome sign out front for them and everyone was so nice and caring. She got to see Jaxon, but apparently he was quite overwhelmed by all the visitors and excitement. His stance and body seem to be saying, "Hey what about me? Where is my mom?" (((TEARS)))) Erica reiterrated that the babies are very loved and appear to be well cared for. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Erica for the fabulous pictures and for taking time to check on Jaxon for us.

Another visitor for Jaxon. Woo Hoo

I am tingling all over--We just got an email from one of my on-line China friends, Erica, who is currently in China adopting her little boy Carter. If you will remember from a few posts ago, Erica and I got pictures of Jaxon and Carter from another family in China. Erica got permission to and is going to be visiting their orphanage tomorrow, well today, b/c after all it is Friday in China. Hopefully, cross our fingers, in the next day or two, we will have more pictures of our little man. My goal for Erica--give him lots of hugs and find out if he is potty trained..... In China, they train them very early. How cool would it be if he came potty trained? So, lets say prayers that Erica and her family continue to have safe journeys in China and that she finds Jaxon healthy.

Hi Jaxon

Gosh, I am so glad we have finally chosen a name for you. You can thank you Aunt Ann for lighting a fire under your daddy and I. Today I got back from visiting your Great Grandmother. She is so excited to meet you. On the way to visit her, I had my eyes on the look out for Bluebonnets in Brenham. They are just starting to peek out. Unfortunatly I was unable to get your sister's pictures in them as it is still too early. So, let me just fill you in. Every year from here on out, you and Abigayle will pose for pictures in the Bluebonnets--and you will do it with a smile on your face :)

Tomorrow, we will be mailing in our request to Immigration to bring you home. Woo Hoo.

Love You, Mommy

And he shall be called.........

Jaxon Zheng Hai Norris

I will probably call him Jax!

There is no special history or family tie to the name. It is just the name we have chosen. I hope he likes it.

Homestudy

Today we received word from our agency that our home study is officially complete and stamped with approval. So we are now officially moving into Phase 2 of the adoption. Hopefully, on Monday, we will mail in our I-800 to Immigration. That is our official request to bring an orphan into the US to be a part of our family. This phase takes approximately 30-45 days. We will receive a receipt showing that our I-800 has been received and then we will receive an appointment to go and get fingerprinted. Lets all say prayers that we get assigned an Immigration Officer who is sensitive to our issue and will process our request with speed.

Next week, I am going to visit my G-Ma in the Austin area. While there, I will take the documents that we have completed so far to the Secretary of States office to get authenticated. In lay terms, Texas has to certify that the notary on each of our documents is a true notary with a current license.

Next week is also my Spring Break. Woo Hoo. I am in definitely need of a break from work.

Check out Zheng Hai's Personality

To my surprise, my wonderful husband called me this afternoon to inform me that we have received updated medical reports and PICTURES of our sweet baby boy. Although from the looks of these pictures, he looks like he is full of spice. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us.

We do know that he was recently in the hospital, but has been released. They report that he is eating noodles, porridge, rice powder, beef powder, bone soup, and eggs.

He weighs 24.2 pounds--.8 pound down from the 25 lbs that were reported in January--probably due to being in the hospital.

He is described as happy and has been playing or interacting with the other children. He is a very happy boy. The other children like him very much and always play games with him.
What a fabulous way to start the weekend.
